Is there life on Mars? If there were, what would it look like? A favorite from our Adventures in Space! class, this workshop will allow children to create Martians from their far-out imaginations. Here, alien life will take on different forms as our explorers create martian sculptures and transform themselves into alien creatures during a dress-up activity where materials, face paint, and lots of extra googley eyes will help bring their visions to life. In addition we will explore “martian soil” and document our discoveries - searching for evidence of life!
Space snacks will be served.
Designed for ages 4-8
The cost of this 3 hour drop-off workshop is $125 per child. This includes the cost of materials, takeaway projects, and a printed portrait of your Martian.

In this workshop, we will celebrate June and make seasonally-inspired, mixed media creations. Together, we will explore ways to express the beauty of nature through installation art, photography, printmaking, and still-life painting. We will begin by bringing in some of the great outdoors inside as we explore and create pieces inspired by sculptor, photographer and environmentalist Andy Goldsworthy. We will learn about "land art" and then select from an array of natural and seasonal items to conceptualize a piece. Each child will create art installations and photograph their finalized work. Next we will explore printmaking, using a gelatin print technique. Positive and negative relief prints will be made using a variety of natural items and printing inks. Lastly, each child will create their own still-life display from the materials provided, painting in their own unique fashion. (Prints make great Father’s Day gifts!)
Seasonal, organic snacks will be served.

Do you believe in magic? What happens when you mix ogre’s sweat with dragon drool? In this workshop, your child will be transformed into the wizard of their dreams as we will embark on a sensory adventure, experimenting and discovering together. We will begin by asking three questions: If you were a wizard what magical powers would you like to have? What do you think the greatest magic potion would do? What magic words can you make up? From there we will design our own wizard hats and wands and let the experimentation begin! Each child will create their own unique potion, filled with mysterious ingredients from an enchanted land. Here, children will make discoveries through combining different ingredients, observing reactions and enjoying a marvelous mess in the process! Additional projects include magical games, hunting for items inside of bubbling brews, writing out spell scrolls, and creating our own crystal balls. Together, we will discover that the power for magic exists within us all.
Magically nutritious snacks will also be served.
